AROHNE

We Support our
Troops

Arohne* Farm is our home and is the closest we have come to being far away...

The Farm is located in Northern Boone County, Missouri, and we have lived here since 2002.  We love it here and so do our dogs!

The intent of this website is to celebrate our Companions.  We have fun showing in conformation and have started training in obedience.  As we progress in these sports, we'll be bragging about and celebrating all our team  achievements.

*Arohne is pronounced "Our Own" and is the combination of three state abbreviations:  ARkansas, OHio and NEbraska.  Mara is from Arkansas, Lou is from Ohio; we were living in Nebraska when we created our Kennel name.  Since we moved to Missouri on a small acreage, we've started calling it Arohne Farm.

DO YOU LEARN THE HARD WAY, TOO?  How many times must one learn a lesson.

[We are updating this article to include our latest mistake -- Yup, we trusted again.  Shame on us.  Please go to Jam's page for more information.]

This article was written after an heinous experience with a breeder and judge we trusted and considered our friend.  We  trusted his handshake instead of insisting on a written contract delineating our agreements - much to our great regret.

Today we know contracts make good understandings and protect friends rather like fences make good neighbors!

We want to share our experience in the hope of preventing someone else from making these same mistakes.   The purpose of the article is to show why contracts are so vital and what makes a good contract.
